SXSW 2011: David J. Neff talks Social Media Fundraising with Frank Barry

While at SXSW 2011 I had the chance to talk with David J. Neff. A non-profit tech (#NPTech), communications and interactive strategy guy who’s all about helping non-profits and people for a living. He worked at the American Cancer Society (ACS) for 9 years directing their web and interactive strategy. Since then he’s gone on to start a non-profit focused on helping other non-profits tell stories through video (Lights. Camera. Help) while also becoming COO for a technology startup that helps non-profits raise money through social media (HelpAttack)!

David and I talk about his new startup HelpAttack! and how the future of online fundraising is heavily tied to peoples social networks. As  you’re watching remember … using social media as part of an overall fundraising strategy is still fairly new to the non-profit world. So new that we’re seeing many social media for social good platforms surfacing on a regular basis.

The question you should be asking you self is “How will I need to adapt my online fundraising strategy in order to harness the power of my supporters networks?”
